“Scores for fake authenticity” is a performance that consists of scores that represent supposedly authentic actions that ron and I have collected from observations in public space. Three performers softly move on the street, between visitors' bodies, leaning on the wall, daydreaming or singing with headphones. The movements seem spontaneous, yet they are rehearsed. The audience becomes an observer of intimate actions and of the performativity of “being”. The “Scores for fake authenticity” act as a metaphor for the inherent performativity of everyday life gestures and explore authenticity as something rehearsed.
The performance was staged on Strausberger Platz within the nGbK program “Kunst im Untergrund” and developed together with ron berger and Kévin Bonono.
In the U-Bahn station large scale posters announced the performance times. Contrary to the epic moment that the posters suggest, the performance blends in within the everyday life. The posters transform the performers’ ordinary movements into a show.
